Wrest Park In Beds Selected As A Major Ww1 Film Location

Following on the heels of Batman Begins, filmed at Cardington Hangers in Bedford, Wrest Park Mansion in Silsoe, Beds has now been selected as a location for a WW1 film. The film is called Flyboys and is about a group of young US pilots who formed the French Fighter Squadron Lafayette Escadrille. This will require the mansion and expansive gardens to be 'dressed down' to give the feel of a disused French Chateau.The film stars James Franco from Spiderman andthe famour French Actor Jean Reno. The filming started in June and this boosts Bedfordshire as an area close to London that can offer a diverse range of locations for film-making.
