BDA Venture Academy Rocks

13th Oct 2006

It was fun, laughter and learning all day long for delegates and coaches at the 2006 BDA Venture Academy held at The Bedford i-Lab on 11th October.

Seven delegates developed and considerably improved their pitches for funding of their business ventures... with the help of venture coaches Alan Barrell, Clive Haywood, Gary Jesson and last but not least! Peter Philips. Each delegate received intensive one to one coaching. Three of the delegates had arrived anticipating only to observe the process - but they had been deceived! As the coaches encouraged them to 'stand and deliver' elevator pitches to the eager audience - and they all performed exceptionally well!

Best business idea prize went to Diane Budd (for 'Rubbish!') who found the coaching "Reinvigorating" and best presentation to Rob New of 3Di - who had originally arrived only to watch!

Feedback on the event has been excellent. Tony Lockwood of Transforming Potential said: "Where do you find such a complete and excellent team, the coaching refreshed what I already know and added more than I thought possible in only one day". John Miller of Business to Business Associates said: "The variety of BDA events is of too higher calibre not to be over booked every time".

There is a Deal Day on 23 November 2006 for anyone wishing to pitch to investors for real. The panel will include banks and VCs. Book now with Alison tel: 01234 226417.
