Supporting Graduates in Employment Project

Are you a graduate or do you have equivalent graduate-level experience?
Are you employed by a small-medium sized company that employs no more than 249 employees, or a public sector company, or have you become unemployed in the last 6 months?
If you can answer yes to the above questions we can help you.
Designed to up skill employed graduates (or people with graduate level experience) in management and leadership skills, enabling them to transform businesses where they work. The project will provide an integrated package of training and development including personal development planning.
Who is it for?
The project is open to Graduates residing in Bedfordshire, excluding Luton, working anywhere in Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) or public sector companies. It is also open to graduates who have recently been made unemployed (i.e. within the last six months) or employees in SMEs whose qualifications and/or evidence of experience is equivalent to degree level.
Graduates do not need to have graduated recently. The project particularly welcomes applications
from older graduates, ethnic minorities, females and delegates with health issues.
Programme benefits
Training and development is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI),
complementing the University’s strong track record in management and leadership development. Work development will be agreed with employers via a personal development plan for each participant, which may incorporate, a work project. Graduates
will work towards the CMI Level 5 Certificate in Management and Leadership.
Participants will also benefit from Student Level Membership of the CMI which entitles them to additional benefits and full use of resources including online resources.
Attendance
Participants will attend weekly classes of three and a half hours over a 12 week period.
Cost
Training is FREE to eligible companies and graduates, thanks to funding from the European Social Fund, Central Bedfordshire Council and Bedford Borough Council. Funding may be available for child care costs for lone parents.
Upon completion
Upon successful completion of required assessments, participants will receive a CMI Level 5
Certificate in Leadership and Management. Participants who achieve the qualification will also be
eligible to progress onto Chartered Manager status if they complete all the necessary accreditation
steps.
