With much of the region only an hour away from the proposed Olympic village, the East of England is in a prime position to benefit from: The estimated extra 500,000 visitors that the Games will bring to the UK The multitude of contracts that will be awarded in the run-up to the Olympics The jobs that will be created - an estimated 63,000 operational personnel will be needed, of which 47,000 will be volunteers
