Learn how to trade ideas for profit
16th Aug 2006
"Ideas have value, ideas bring growth, ideas are the new intellectual currency"
With the business world becoming ever more competitive and the pressure increasing to come up with the next great product, firms in the East of England are getting the chance to hear top UK business leaders trade their knowledge and inspiration at 'the ideas exchange'.
Organised by the East of England Development Agency (EEDA), 'the ideas exchange' will provide the opportunity for entrepreneurs and businesses to hear experts explain how innovative thoughts and ways of working can make a difference to your business.
The event on the 14th November will include:
A keynote speech from Barbara Cassani, the first leader of London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics Games and the chief executive of GO Airlines, will discuss Management and Leadership
The two men behind the growth of the Harry Ramsden and La Tasca restaurants, John Barnes and Richard Richardson will be explaining how to use 'Marketing Judo' to grow a business on a small budget
Doug Richard, from BBC 2's Dragons' Den, and Sahar Hashemi, co-founder of the Coffee Republic, will be sharing their valuable experience and help entrepreneurs understand what is important as they try to develop and grow their business
The finals of the Running the Gauntlet competition with the winners being announced at the end of the night
The chance to network and trade ideas with 500 other like minded business people
Richard Ellis, chair of EEDA, said: "The power of an idea is huge. An idea can be developed, honed and worked on until it is ready to be launched to grow and ultimately bring success. This is why ideas are the new capital - the very symbols of a prosperous economy. The chance to trade thoughts and plans is at the heart of any successful exchange and our event will show you how an idea can maximise your potential.
"'The ideas exchange' will allow over 500 business people to hear some of the best business leaders in the country explain how they have made their business ventures a success. At the East of England Development Agency, we see our role as providing the right environment for businesses to raise the ideas they need to grow. We have listened to the feedback from previous EEDA events and the line up for 'the ideas exchange' reflects the topics which you are telling us you want to hear."
The event will take place on the 14 November 2006 between 4pm-9pm at Tattersall's in Newmarket.
