MANAGEMENT TRAINING FOR SMALLER BUSINESSES IN BEDS AND LUTON

6th Nov 2006

Thanks to support from the Learning and Skills Council, Cranfield University has created a unique Effective Management Programme of management development training specifically for smaller businesses in Bedfordshire and Luton.

If you can answer ‘yes’ to these three questions, then Effective Management could be for you.
• Is your business based in Bedfordshire or Luton?
• Have you less than 20 employees?
• Do you have no history of staff training and development?

Cranfield is one of Europe’s leading Business Schools, and has an outstanding record of management development in small businesses including the Business Growth and Development Programme, the UK’s leading programme for owner managers. This has assisted more than 750 companies in the past 20 years. Many, like Cobra Beer and Hotel Chocolat, have gone on to become significant players in their markets.

The same team has now created the Effective Management Programme, directed primarily at the county’s early-stage small businesses, to help encourage and develop their management skills.

The programme, will run over four days, with a break of two weeks between each two-day session. The support of the Learning and Skills Council means that the only cost to participants will be an overnight stay at the Cranfield Management Development Centre where the course will be held – an essential part of the programme.

Effective Management has been designed to help smaller businesses to step up a gear, to improve their ability to compete and lay the foundations for growth. It will cover:-

* The Essentials of Management * Strategy and Marketing

* Financial Management * Managing People

* Improving Team Effectiveness * Improving Personal Effectiveness

Those interested in applying for the programme should contact Geoff Nelder via g.nelder@cranfield.ac.uk, or on 01234 754174 as soon as possible, our first course will run in November and numbers are limited.
