Connecting Research with Industry
19th Mar 2007
With global competition rising, businesses are having to put increasing emphasis on concepts such as innovation, competitiveness and productivity. Recent reports show leading European economes are falling behind the US in terms of productivity growth in the last ten years, and the EU is actively promoting the development of Europe as a knowledge-based economy.
Now, a major conference to be held at Cranfield University will explore these issues and challenges, focusing on the subject of connecting research with industry.
The two-day networking event – to be held on 18 and 19 April - aims to foster relationships between universities, research institutions, businesses, industrial clusters and development agencies.
High-profile figures will give speeches at the event, including Richard Lambert (Director-General of the Confederation of British Industry) and Giancarlo Aragona (Italian Ambassador in the UK), Ing Pasquale Pistorio (Vice-President of Innovation and Research at Confindustria) and Professor Fabio Pistella (President of the National Research Council),
The conference will give ample opportunity for networking with senior directors, policy-makers and academics from both Italy and the UK drawn from a number of sectors including aerospace, automotive, ICT, advanced materials and biotechnology.
Interest in the event is taking off quickly and tickets are running out - visit the website www.connectresearch.co.uk to download your booking form now. Also see attached flyer for more information.
