When its comes to sport there is something for everyone from tennis, cricket, horseriding, clay pigeon shooting, golf, windsurfing, jet skiing, rowing, football and swimming.

Major sporting facilities include the Oasis Beach Pool, a high performance car Autodrome, Bedford International Athletic Stadium and Bedford Blues Rugby Club which are both host to several international events. Bedford Town Football Club, The Eagles now have a new stadium and are aiming for promotion to the Conference League. Bedford also has a marina with 200 moorings, sailing lake, restaurant and hotel. Bedford is also famous for it's international rowing stars like Tim Foster.

And if all of this is too energetic then you can enjoy a peaceful walk in Priory Country Park surrounded by 200 acres of woodland and natural lakes within walking distance of the town centre. Bedford has seven major parks that provide a wealth of facilities in beautiful surroundings and over 50 play areas all maintained by the Council, highlighting the fact that area really does provide a high quality of life.

Bedford is also home to the Forest of Marston Vale, established in 1991, it is one of 12 Community Forests in England. Over half a million trees have already been planted and the Forest Centre hosts conferences as well as working to regenerate the Countryside.
